Bob was back from Seattle and in need for more abuse. So six of us got together and did a 2 day intensive training course.
Jeevan and Kevin were there for the full duration with their cokes and smiles
Francis with his, now green ,cockroach survived the ordeal , coming out improving vastly
Bob came out tops with a handful of impressive runs with our lesson AE86, which he remodelled with the help of the trees and landscape on the first day. Though still having to work on the ‘consistancy’ bit ,he was still good.
So with that , we gave Bob a free pass for “bragging rights” with the audience of one…Jeevan .
Glad the two days helped out with everyone’s drifting and it does goes to show that it doesn’t have to be a circus to practice…eh Bob? 😉
In conjunction with the Formula Drift Malaysia 2011, ESPN StarSports and Tune Talk had invited Jane and I to be a part of their roadshow and drift demo. Being a week before the competition , we opted to not use our competition car for this even and brought J4M8u and M3R4H instead.
The event started off with us meeting up at ground zero, Dataran Merdeka , the location for FD Malaysia.
From there we made our way through the streets of KL , escorted by 5 Police out riders , holding traffic for us..how cool is that??
Finally we made our way to Stadium Merdeka where Rock The World Adrenaline 2011 was being held. We managed to entertain the huge crowd present with the limited space given and basically hung out till it was time to go.
About 18 drift cars turned up for the Drift X session which was pretty decent considering the announcement was made only a week and a bit prior to it. Sepang International Circuit at the eleventh hour had decided to allocate the P1 parking space for drifting in conjunction with their 1000km Endurance Race
The session was divided to a wet and dry surface which was alternated throughout the day. This had enable the lesser powered cars to drift the challenging yet fun course layout
There were a few drifter , which included Jane and yours truly, who took the oppurtiunity to test their cars prior to the Formula Drift Malaysia event to be held soon after!
We will be having a drift session in SIC PA1 parking on the 3rd December 2011. All are welcome as we will be having two drifting surfaces: Wet for those who want to have fun and Dry for those who want to set up their cars and practice for the up coming Formula Drift Malaysia. We will be limiting the participants to only 40 drifters , so please contact Jane at 012 4870487 to reserve a spot!!
